What is a YWAM DTS?

A Discipleship Training School, or DTS for short, is a six-month program that blends classroom learning with practical service and community living. What is the DTS program like?

Most often, the DTS training comes in two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase.

DTS LECTURE PHASE

The lecture phase is usually three months long and takes place in a classroom setting. You'll learn about different topics such as Bible study, theology, cross-cultural studies, and evangelism.

Specific DTS lecture phase teaching topics include:

• How to hear God's voice
• Calling & Identity
• Missions
• Nature & Character of God
• Prayer, Worship, & Intercession
• Holy Spirit
• Father Heart of God

OTHER PARTS OF THE DTS PROGRAM

There is so much more to a DTS than sitting in a classroom, some of the best times are when class is finished! Growing as a Disciple to Jesus happens is when we are drinking coffee together, eating meals, hanging out in the evening. Some other great aspects of the DTS include:

• Prayer & Worship times
• Small groups
• Community times
• Meal times
• Hanging out on the weekend
• Traveling together

OUTREACH PHASE

Then, the outreach phase is typically three months long and takes you to a new culture where you'll put what you've learned into practice by serving others. You'll have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with people from all over the world!
